My husband bought me a tanzanite and diamond ring in 1999. The tanzanite was lost twice from the ring even though I had my inspections every 6 months as required to maintain the warranty.

This time when it was lost I was told tanzanite was not a covered gemstone.

On their website I see they changed their warranty to cover diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds but no longer cover tanzanite. How can they refuse to repair my ring?! We paid for the "lifetime gemstone guarantee". I will tell everyone I know not to shop there!

The manager actually said it's too expensive for them to honor the warranty. How does that nullify my guarantee?

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

They've never covered gemstones. Stop your fibbing & get over it!

The manager at the store DOESN'T make the policies & rules.

Corporate does. So take it up with them & stop harrassing the poor manager!

doing a google search it appears that Kay has never covered "semi precious" gems under their diamond and gemstone plan. Also they give this for FREE and have never charged for it, they do charge for an extended service plan" which appears to cover all metal costs (sizing, rhodium, retiping, etc)So if they replaced it for you before that was a great customer service.
