I had an egift card stolen before delivery. When it was delivered, I checked the balance to find it at 0.00.

I thought it was an error, so I called to ask if they could issue me a new gift card. They said it had already been cashed out and a 0 balance within hours of the purchase. I filed a complaint with FBI internet crimes because Kay jewelers wouldn't help. The FBI is not being helpful either.

I asked an agent about it and he said the balance is too low for them to do anything about it. Kay stated I had previously had gift cards that were sold online, which is true. But I called because I reported a gift card that arrived with no balance. I am thinking someone at Kay must have seen I've purchased gift cards online before and took the number, knowing I wouldn't be able to prove it.

I sent them copies of my bank statements and any previous gift card sales I've made from the website, and none of it includes the $450 that was stolen. I also provided a copy of the email showing that I hadn't forwarded it to anyone. I checked the access history with Google and it doesn't appear that my email was hacked. That means someone at Kay defrauded me.

I don't understand why when I called within 48 hours and I started the call with "Why doesn't my gift card number work and when I call the number to check on the phone it says no longer valid?" that they would just blow me off. Anyone reporting any type of fraud or theft for any reason should be taken seriously. It's not like I can report this to local law enforcement, it's an internet crime. Kay knows who the perpetrator is and will not take legal action by contacting the authorities to seize the illegal purchase that was made.

At the very least, they should refund my credit cad. I told them I would be happy to just close my card, pay it, and never deal with them again if they will refund my money. Why would I have a reason to report something stolen when it wasn't, particularly when I sent them screenshots of all my accounts? It would show proof of activity if I had done something.

I am extremely upset. I do not want to pay money and interest on it for something I never received.
