Been buying at Kay’s in Ellenton, Fl for years. Have spent $8000 in the last two year alone.

Always bought the warranty. A diamond fell out of a very expensive tanzanite ring with diamond trim. Only had the ring 11-12 months. When I brought it back to my local Merritt island, Fl store under warranty to get stone replaced I was told it wasn’t covered because I didn’t bring it in every 6 months!

The woman who waited on me was VERY unfriendly. I stupidly bought another 1 carat total weight diamond ring while there. I also brought back all my KAYS jewelry to be serviced to get back under warranty. Not one clerk who sold me a ring ever told me about the six month check.

I asked if they would waive the charges since they could see I was a returning customer who spends a few thousand dollars a year there- they said no- and not nicely. Didn’t even call a manager over or consider my request for one second. At least at ellenton store they are friendly and very nice - complete opposite at Merritt island store. KAYS has lost me as a customer due to poor customer service.

I will bring jewelry back to keep warranty but will never spend another dime at kays.

The purchase of the last ring brings the total to $10,000. And to think a smile and kind word was all it would take to keep me coming back..,

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

I think YOU'RE rude for not following a very simple procedure, then throwing a tantrum about it. Grow up!

I believe you are confusing the diamond bond and the extended service plan. The diamond bond is automatic with precious stones (diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires) that is automatic with any purchase of those stones and must be kept up to date to stay active.

The extended service plan is the additional purchase and that covers any repair work, such as sizing and prong work. Once that is purchased there is nothing needed to be done to keep it valid. I have been a customer at Kay’s for over 30 years at stores all around the country, they do everything in their power to protect your stones.

I missed inspections for a year and when I went back in they refreshed everything as they should. But if you don’t hold up your end there is only so much they can do.
