Kay Jewelers - Bad Quality -
A year after we purchased a $12,000 engagement ring from Kay, a small diamond fell out. Since we missed the first six month inspection, I was told that the warranty was void on the ring and that they would send it off and charge me to replace it.
Needless to say, I realized right off the bat they were not a company that was going to stand behind their workmanship. Hence, I had it replaced by a local, family owned jeweler at half the cost- a total of 4 times in 5 years. Now 6 years later, two stones fell out due to what multiple jewelers who have been in the business for over 35 years have told me is defective craftsmanship- the channel is visibly defective, and in no way caused by normal wear and tear in such short period of time. I contacted the Kay store manager where we purchased it (Pottstown, PA) and was told AGAIN that they really could not help me because I had not had the ring inspected every six months at their store.
Bottom line, they only care about ripping off people and enforcing rules and not about satisfying their customers.
Donโt buy here!!!! Typical big business!
Reason of review: Warranty issue.

How can you blame Kay when you didn't bother to take the ring in to them to have it inspected every 6 months??? The policies are ALL in your paperwork.
You had 1 little job & you didn't bother to do it. The ring must not be THAT important to you then. And honestly, from the picture....I can't believe you paid $12,000 for that!!!
It looks like an Avon ring. LOL!
Kay Jewelers has a policy for this. It is called the Diamond Bond, you are told at time of purchase to make sure to get it inspected and cleaned for FREE every 6 months and if something ended up happening to the diamonds, they would be completely covered.
That is your fault for not keeping up with inspections. As for the Jewelers, you should not have taken it to so many Jewelers. You pay for quality at Kay's, as why it is so expensive.
They were less because the quality was less. Having those inspections would have covered any replacement or tightening of your stones.Do not blame the Kay Company for mistakes of your own.
